1. Your undivided attention - I cannot keep going back and repeating myself over and over if you are not paying attention when I cover something the first time.
2. Note taking - it will be CRITICAL with some of the procedures we will cover. I CANNOT and WILL NOT go over things repeatedly if I have asked you to take notes. It is YOUR responsibility to take notes and make sure things are clear the first time.
3. An open mind - I need you to trust me that I will take you to a place where you can make beautiful black and white images. Some of the things I go over might not seem very important. News flash...THEY ARE IMPORTANT.
4. A good work ethic - I need you to shoot, shoot, SHOOT! Some of you are not shooting and guess what...this is a PHOTOGRAPHY class. Shoot often and shoot a lot. You won't be penalized for shooting too much. YOU WILL BE PENALIZED for not shooting enough. This work ethic also carries over to coming in during lunch periods, after school, working at home on the weekends, whatever. It will become very clear who is putting in enough time to excel and succeed and who is just putting in enough time to just pass the class.
5. A good attitude - this class is hard. It is supposed to be. When you are struggling and having difficulties, remember that it is my job to help you succeed and empower you with tools that will make it possible.
